The rockwool cube allows the plant to establish itself and start growing.
Once the cube has been colonized by the roots, it is placed on a cut-out to suit its size (on a loaf of rockwool or coconut fibre).
The cube can also be placed in the substrate of a hydroponic system such as theAuto-Pot, or inserted in the clay beads of an Aquafarm.
A small, fast-growing plant can also be brought to term solely in the cube on a tidal table.
