La Semence Bio is an independent vegetable seed company specializing 100% in seeds from organic agriculture. Description: Violet clover is a perennial legume with a powerful root system, 10 to 15 cm high. Legumes enrich the soil in nitrogen.

Cultivation guide

Soil maintenance: can be established on various soils, very productive, slow growing and of limited durability.

Sowing : broadcasting, at a rate of 200 g for 100 m2.

Emergence: their growth is rather slow and requires an availability of the plots from 3 to 6 months.

Watering: water until emergence.

Incorporation of the green manure in the soil: the destruction of the green manure is done by crushing which allows to accelerate the decomposition. It is preferable to incorporate it into the soil between 30 to 50 days before the next crop (the delay should be longer for direct seeding than for planting), as surface micro-organisms (bacteria, azotobacter) will ensure its decomposition.

Advice from La Semence Bio® : Legumes are interesting for their capacity to fix atmospheric nitrogen thanks to their nodosities. After destruction of the plant, this nitrogen is returned to the soil and available for the following crop. They are often associated with a grass that serves as a stake.
